Privacy
A short, plain-English privacy note.
This is a personal academic site. It collects as little as possible, and nothing for advertising.
The short version
- No advertising, no social-media trackers and no data selling.
- No cookies are set unless you choose to accept analytics.
- Fonts are served from this site, not from Google.
Analytics
This site does not currently use analytics. If I add privacy-respecting analytics in future, it will only run after you actively accept it, and this page will say so.
The contact form
If you write to me through the form, I receive your name, email address, the type of enquiry and your message by email, and I use them only to reply to you. They stay in my mailbox for as long as the conversation needs. Emails are delivered through Resend, an email delivery service.
To stop automated abuse, the form limits how many messages one connection can send per hour. This uses a one-way scrambled version of your IP address, held for up to one hour in a service called Upstash. The readable address is not stored.
PDF downloads
When a paper is downloaded I add one to a private counter for that file. The counter records no IP address and no identifier, and automated crawlers such as search engines are not counted. The numbers are for my own information only and are never shown on the site.
Hosting and logs
The site is hosted by Vercel, which, like any host, may keep standard server logs (such as IP addresses and requested pages) for security and reliability.
Links to other sites
Links to Google Scholar, ORCID, LinkedIn, publishers and others lead to sites with their own privacy practices.
Your rights and questions
You can ask what I hold about you, or ask me to delete it, using the contact form.
